Omprakash Gnawali

Om is an assistant professor at the University of Houston Computer Science department. Previously, he was a post-doctoral fellow at Stanford University. He has a Ph.D. from the University of Southern California (USC), and M.Eng. and B.S. degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), all in Computer Science. Om has volunteered with NCEF since its founding in 2002. Om grew up in Kathmandu, Nepal and has visited 27 (out of 75) districts in Nepal, many on foot.

Steven Lustig

Steven has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1993), and MS in Mechanical Engineering (1995) and MBA (2009) from Georgia Institute of Technology. He lives in Atlanta and works as a manager in supply chain and manufacturing. Steven has visited a number of countries around the world and based on those experiences, believes in supporting education for children who otherwise could not afford it.

Santosh KC

Santosh is a Research Scientist at Facebook, Menlo Park. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from University of Houston (2018) and BE in Computer Engineering from Kathmandu University (2012). He has seen lots of failures to education while growing up in Dang, Nepal. So, he is excited to be part of educating the disadvantaged children of the society.

Jay Shrestha

Jay lives in Dallas and works as a Scientific Advisor for an international patent law firm. Jay has a Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics and Cell Biology from the University of Chicago and a B.S. degree in Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Growing up in Nepal, Jay lived in various parts of the country and has also traveled extensively throughout the country. Jay has been volunteering off and on, in various capacities, for NCEF since its inception in 2002. He believes providing access to education is one of the best ways to leverage investment to empower people.

Rabin Aryal
Treasurer
Rabin believes an educated person has the ability to differentiate between right and wrong or good and evil. He firmly believes that it is foremost responsibility of a society to educate its citizens. He is always willing to give back to society in any way he can. He has a BS in Computer Science from University of North Carolina at Pembroke and a MS in Computer Science from Appalachian State University. He works as a Software Engineer and currently lives in Calgary.
