Happy Holidays and Highlights from NCEF CEO Omprakash Gnawali.

Our annual year-end letter from NCEF CEO Omprakash Gnawali containing all the highlights, hard work and accomplishments of 2019

December 9, 2019

Dear friends:

It is our pleasure to share with you the highlights from our work in 2019, made possible by you.

We are supporting 108 students this year. This is the largest class! These students rely on our financial support for books, supplies, school uniforms, and other academic expenses. Although the tuition is largely free or almost free in many public schools in Nepal, there are many academic and non-academic fees the students are expected to cover on their own so that schooling is still a financially challenging proposition for many families in Nepal.

We support students throughout Nepal! This year we are providing financial assistance to students in Sunsari, Lamjung, Nepalgunj, Sankhuwasabha, Nawalparasi, Gorkha, and Bajura. Bajura is in far western Nepal where almost everyone does subsistence farming for a living, and horses are widely used for transportation due to lack of reliable roads. About two-thirds of the people are from disadvantaged groups in the area in Lamjung where we support students. We look forward to many years of helping the students in these and more areas in Nepal.

We support expanding opportunities to different places and people. All of our supported students are outside of Kathmandu from Eastern Nepal to Western Nepal, and from the plains in the south to the mountains in the north. Among our supported students are students with disabilities, who would have found it difficult to stay in school without our support.

We rely on your generous financial support to make this work possible. Our goal is to continue providing financial assistance and support to our students until they complete their high school education. Long-term commitment is at the core of our mission, and we will continue to look for new areas and groups where our work can make the biggest impact in these children's lives.

This holiday season, please consider sending the gift of education to these children in Nepal. You can donate online at http://www.nepalchildren.org/donation.html or send a check to:

As long as you mail your check by December 31, 2019, it will count towards donations for tax year 2018. NCEF is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and has no salaries or office expenses, so each child benefits directly from your donation.

Wishing you a good holiday season,

Omprakash Gnawali

Happy Holidays from NCEF!

From everyone here at NCEF we would like to wish all our donors, volunteers, students, and executives the happiest of holidays this season. It has been our great pleasure to share with you the successes and developments of 2018 with regards to all the hard work done by the NCEF community. Throughout the year, these newsletters have shared exactly the kind of wonderful opportunities made available to our students and their communities. Without the generosity of donors such as yourselves, this amazing work would not be possible. On behalf of our students and the entire NCEF family, we wish you very happy holidays and a wonderful New Year. Thank you for all that you do!
