NCEF held its annual board meeting this June to elect a new board for 2013/2014. Procedure holds that the outgoing board votes in the new board from nominations received by the election date. NCEF welcomes nominations from among our members and anybody else who is interested in serving on the board.
The newly elected board is led by Omprakash Gnawali. He has been a volunteer with NCEF since its founding in 2002 and has served in a variety of capacities over the years. Jay Shrestha continues his role as the Secretary while Abhishek Shrestha, who has previously volunteered as the student selection officer, now serves as Treasurer. Inku Subedi and Steven Lustig complete the board of directors. Inku and Steven have volunteered in many capacities in the past: Steven, most notably, as the President from 2011-13. Omprakash, Jay, Abhishek, and Steven also serve in the executive committee of the organization where they are joined by Rabin Aryal as the student selection officer. Rabin has previously volunteered helping evaluate student applications for scholarships.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our outgoing board members: Anil Pachhai has brought much needed organization in the way we use various IT tools in the organization; Aayush Sakya and Gyami Shrestha provided important advice and participation in the fundraising and publicity efforts; Aadit Sitaula worked tirelessly over the last several years in various capacities, most recently as the Treasurer, and helped make the financial administration of the organization up-to-date and efficient. We thank them all for their service and hope they will continue to be part of NCEF family.
Finally, the new board has committed to continuing the many good programs that directly benefit the students we support. We welcome this new board warmly and look forward to the new developments to come.. | |

We are happy to announce that thus far in 2013, NCEF has raised over $6,800 with $2,636.76 raised in July alone. Thank you to all who have helped us achieve this; these donations keep us going so that we may continue to help as many children as possible. We're looking forward to the rest of the year's fundraising efforts and hope for continued success in 2013.
